Well, I can only say what I gave for a set. A fellow stovebolter sold me the complete set for $50. I then had to buy the temp guage, buy a reface kit (about $12.50) and shined up the chrome bezels, painted them. The speedometer head was worn pretty bad and it set me back about a $100 bucks just for the NOS head and calibrating it. I've seen them advertised from $50 to $125. Do a search in the parts for sale forum and you can get an idea what others have sold for. Sometimes bolters will help another bolter if he converts to digital or so forth.

you may as well go ahead and take some pics!!

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

On the other hand Ive been given several 47-53 sets that look to be in great shape...

I bought a full cluster from a 46 gmc for $50 last week including surround, glass and in pretty decent shape.

There ya go! Find somebody in your area to trade for something cool! Im finding its far better to help out a bolter and have fun then dicker around trying to make money.

Is there anything you would want to trade for? Might be worth throwing it in the swap meet section?

53 Chev,

I always used e-Bay as a guide to evaluate parts, their condition and price to keep me up to date as to current market values so I knew what I could expect. Its not a matter of being greedy , just fair... and the more in your pocket, the less out of pocket, for those replacements.

I love the looks of the originals in the 50's Chevy's. Perhaps thats why they are being closly duplicated by "stewart-warner".

Tit for Tat! Hang onto them and sooner or later someone will be needing a set of those to keep some old iron up and running. And he won't have the bux to buy something out of a catalog. And Voila! You just happen to have a set he can have to keep his dream alive. And before you know it, there's going to be something you are going to need, and it'll come back to you. These folks are a strange blend of characters, and you'll find that They have the sickness to keep these old trucks going, no matter who's dream it is. Always there to help.

The amount of stuff I have had given to me and given away to other Chevy truck guys is a lot. Always better to help someone out who might help you out sometime. What goes around, comes around.
