Does anyone know of a place to secure one of these babies, and does it really matter? The hood shuts securely as it is; I have tried to lift it and it is locked down tight! I have tried Mothertruckertrucks and all the usual suspects from the aftermarket dealers. But, maybe I am missing one. The latch bolts to the underside of the hood and is shaped like an inverted "L." | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 86 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 86 | Thanks! I called them, and they said that they did not have that part and that it should not be on "the Internet." Oh, well, valiant try! Thanks again!!!! | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,952 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,952 | I put a cable under the hood by the latch which dropped through the hole in the latch plate in front of the rad. I put an eye-bolt through the bottom valance and put a padlock on it. Easy access and especially comforting when the truck was kept in a garage away from here. The cable had ferrules on each end and before putting them on I sleeved it in plastic. Simple and effective. | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 3,068 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 3,068 | I'll be taking delivery of a truck this week-end that I may part out. After I inspect it further, I may have a secondary latch for you. E-mail me after Sunday to see what I plan to do with it. I have a few other hoods too that may have one on it, I'll check into it over the week-end, Scott | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 86 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 86 | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 28,674 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 28,674 | In the meantime, go to any gun shop, and get one of those plastic-coated cable locks Big Brother makes them sell with every firearm. It should double as an emergency hood latch, and an anti-tampering device. Jerry

The only hoods I have are from big bolts, so the whole thing won't work on your pick-up. He hangs out on the GMC board. | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 86 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 86 | Yeah, I had tried MT right off, to no avail. Anyway, the only thing I really need is the L-shaped piece that comes down from the hood. We have one, but it is bent up.

If that one would have been trashed, I wouldn't have any to give.
Drop "Iowa Trucks 59" a note and see if he's got one. I've bought some AD stuff from him in the past and I know he's bought more trucks since too. Scott | | |
