Does anyone know of a place to secure one of these babies, and does it really matter? The hood shuts securely as it is; I have tried to lift it and it is locked down tight! I have tried Mothertruckertrucks and all the usual suspects from the aftermarket dealers. But, maybe I am missing one. I put an eye-bolt through the bottom valance and put a padlock on it. Easy access and especially comforting when the truck was kept in a garage away from here.
The cable had ferrules on each end and before putting them on I sleeved it in plastic. It should double as an emergency hood latch, and an anti-tampering device.

Do you need just the actual lever, which is rivoted in, or the whole mechanism that's attached to the hood? The only hoods I have are from big bolts, so the whole thing won't work on your pick-up.

Drop "Iowa Trucks 59" a note and see if he's got one. I've bought some AD stuff from him in the past and I know he's bought more trucks since too.
