I posted this on the Greasy Spoon a couple days ago, thinking that would be the best place for it. Other than a few quick responses, it has sunk to the bottom like a rock. Maybe it would be better to post it here where all the money is?

Barry,

How else would it get to the Spoon if it didn't sink to the bottom of the pool! smile Thanks for the reminder here, I just did my civic duty.

This site exists solely because of volunteers and donations. No one gets paid. Let's do our part to support this site and keep our community going...and FREE. If everyone donated even a few dollars I'm sure it would really be a big help. What is the entertainment, knowledge, and tech support worth to you? The price of a movie even?
This is a great site!

I'm in the web design/development business, I know the work, resources, and MONEY that it takes to maintain it. Please help John and Peg keep it going. Thanks.

One and all ... I just updated the Thanks page . Many of you are more well known by your Stovebolt name, so if you want me to add that (like I had for some), send me an email and I'll fix it right up.

Many, many thanks to all of you for this. It will help.

Thanks gang.

A few checks came in the mail today -- Fred, Joe Hand, Anel Carrillo/Castillo, and a mysterious "CT" from Sacramento.

Thank you all very much. I think that makes 46 donors so far.

Thanks everyone ... just updated the thank you page again.

I gave

Bought a 24 foot pontoon boat last weekend for the grandkids. We have a cabin on Lake Taneycomo in Rockaway Beach. My wife and I like to go over to Tablerock Lake and fish also.

The road from Rockaway Beach, MO to Indian Point public launch ramp is about 12 miles and hilly.

I borrowed my son's jeep cherokee to bring the boat down here to Rockaway. I took the ridge road from Spokane to Rockaway to avoid any steep hills. The road from Rockaway to Indian Point was all the jeep could handle.

For those familiar with the region, I took the Ozark Mountain High Road from 65 to Silver Dollar City. The launch area is about 2 miles down the road from the amusement park.

I don't think any of my stovebolts will pull the boat. Or perhaps I should say I don't think any of my stovebolts will pull the boat in the manner my wife is accustomed to: a/c and 65 mph.

My stovebolts are all 4 speeds and six cylinder motors.

Any suggestions?

My donation has been made. Sorry it took so long. Thanks to John, Peg and the rest of the folks that keep this site going.
Come on gang and pitch in. Where else are you going to go and get the great information that is available here at no charge?

Mark,

There were about six names that didn't come through the PayPal email thingy. Fortunately, Kip mentioned it to me and I went back to look at their list. So, I have them all on the thank you page now. I'm pretty sure.

If I have missed anyone, let me know so I can go back and check. And if you want your forum name in there, let me know that, too and I'll be glad to put it in there. More folks are known by that than their real names.

And anyone who makes a donation now, can they let me know if the PayPal return link works (after they've made a donation). I talked to those folks last night and I hope we got it fixed. Most people were getting a "whoops" page.

I was shocked that PayPal had CALL IN customer service. Very helpful for dummies like me.

Thanks to all. We've got close to $1500 so far. I think we need $5,000 but we need to check with Paul this weekend. This will be great if we can get this set up. And relieve some of the worries of any kind of failure.

If each one would reach one (buck, out of their pocket), heck ... we'd have more than enough. I sure would love to see some of the businesses who get referrals from you guys for parts and such to dig in a little. The only business so far to send a donation has been MONGO'S GARAGE. Whoo-hoo for you Steve!!

Thanks to all who are pulling for this!

Woo-hoo. eek

I've sent Paul an email to go ahead and start his research on what it is we need to expand the server stuff (can you tell I don't know beans about any of that).

I figure we must be half-way there ...

Will report back!

Thanks everyone ...

Ahhhhhhhhh! That was such a cool surprise. We couldn't guess who the initials were!! Totally cool.

Two other people sent plain doll-hairs in the mail too. As we had said, it would only take a buck here and there.

AND ... we got news from Paul yesterday. What he needs with a back-and-forth back-up (of course, there is techno buzz for all this) is just at $3K. He has a few more details to work out but it looks like we'll be able to order it soon. We thought it would be closer to $5 ... so we be quite happy on this end!

YES!! YES!! This is great. Thank you all for helping with this. This will mean better service on the site. And Paul won't have to travel an hour to fix stuff.

There's more details but Paul will need to write it up. All I know is that it'll be better and I can keep working without loosing stuff. Well, without loosing stuff on the server. eek

We are only $605 from our goal. That should be no problem.

Thanks guys! We are only about $150 away from our goal of $3100. Let's finish this up as soon as possible so I can leave everyone alone and let you get back to talking trucks. Thank you to all donators! You've helped keep the Stovebolt going!

Not done yet!! Still got an envelop coming with a little maintenance money, or if I had my way I would say "biscuit money" for the crew to have breakfast. My thanks to all who make this site possible and to all those who make it the nice place it is.

Perfect Alvin! We need to keep a little cash flow rollin' into the Stovebolt worldwide headquarters monthly so we have a cushion to cover problems like this that may (and do!) come up.
