I hesitate to post this here, since you will probably all be as appalled as I was.

But I guess if you have a Stovebolt behind all hope of restoring or rodding, I guess making it a trailer is better than crushing it.

You need to get one of those speed boats converted to drive on highways like a car to pull this thing and then you'll have something.

This is about the craziest thing I have seen. I wonder how the 10% tongue weight rule of thumb works out on this one!

I agree, the wheels are way too far back to allow that to take a reasonable load.

Now if he'd just tied the front wheels to the tongue like a hay wagon ....

What a complete waste of a truck. There are so many things out there to build a trailer with. Why would you use a classic truck? I just doesn’t look practical and wouldn’t carry a load well with the wheel placement.

Judging from the pictures, he probably could have sold the truck for as much or more money had he left it a truck.

Two thumbs down from me. I can't tell if it is a '54 or '55.1 without the side emblems. The hubcaps are wrong for either year, so they aren't much help. Either way it was a waste.

There are a lot of AD truck beds floating around farm country that have been converted to trailers - which is still a waste, but they were almost all done years ago before the trucks had much "classic" value. I wouldn't mind finding one of them and painting it to match my '54. That might be a cool rig to run around with - but I think this is a monstrosity.

Two more big thumbs down here. Looks like it's ruined as far as bringing back as a truck. The back of the cab has been opened up to the bed.

Between rust and people like this guy, is why I'm still lookin'. Of course lack of cash falls in there pretty heavy too.

patrick66- dodge ram is an awsome truck-especially the 2001 and earlier models. Dont care much for the 2002 and later. Maybef63 thought it was a toyota. :confused:

Looked like a Dodge to me, too.

I zoomed in and it's hard to tell for sure that it says "dodge" on the taigate, but the rims appear consistant with a Dodge.. you can almost make out the ram logo on the center caps of the rims.

of course its a dodge but i think that we are missing the point that this guy ruined a perfectly restorable old pickup. that truck had a chance at restoration adn now it is going to forever be some idiots trailer. it gets a big boo from me, and if i ran into the guy i would tell him what i think of it. ingenuity has its place but that makes me a little sad.

If he wanted to build a bike hauler from a vehicle, why did he not lob the nose off a van and build it??? Seen a few of those, and most seem to come out halfway decent.

It's gotta be way too heavy to be practical, as well.

Loaded up you'd need a bigger truck than even the Mighty Dodge 1/2-ton to lug it around.

I agree with Kimberly. There's unique and clever. And then there's dumb and dumberer.

Wow, MT.. I only looked at that picture for about 10 seconds and not only did I instantly grow a mullet, but I think a couple of my teeth are loose now!

I guess I don't see any difference between what that ding dong did to that AD than the folks who chop the tops, "french" the headlights into the fenders, or carve up the rear fenders so the truck looks like the Titanic sinking as it rolls down the road.

Altho I guess those guys can at least still DRIVE the trucks.. about the only thing that trailer truck would be good for is body parts now.. fenders, hood.. maybe the doors.

Down the street from my house a farmer has a 60 Chevy truck that someone converted into a nut tree shaker.
He drives it on the road. It is set up to drive in reverse at all times and the seat and steering wheel have been relocated so his back face the front of the truck. The roof section has been removed.

And this was done before Monser Garage.

I will get a picture and post it someday.

Some people have way to much time on their hands.

I saw a 1-ton dually crew cab dodge cummings diesel turn a 1/4 mile at 112mph. It may have had a chip + propane injection, but I had a lot more respect for those suckers after that night.
