Anyone work on their 'Bolts?

Saturday was the opening day of muzzle loader anterless here so I spent the day in the woods. It was a gorgeous day to be out!

Sunday I finished up some frame surgery on InkyJR's truck. I finally got it out from in front of the garage. Now if the hydraulics on the Kubota were strong enough to lift it off the ground, I might be able to take it out to the back yard where Mrs.Inky wants it

Another weekend on Dad's '59 car instead. Looks like his dream of an all-matching serial # car is slipping away. We assembled his new engine cart and hoisted the engine on. Then, we drained about 5 quarts of rusty water out of the oil pan !!!! I think he'll be asking Santa for a new engine.

Put the seat cover on the '67 seat and painted the seat brackets. Installed the plugs, plug wires, and fuel filter. Got the two rear tires and wheels swapped out, so everything matches now. Drove it about five miles just to be sure it would drive five miles! Sanded on the hood and doors.

Saturday I spent the day watching the Buckeyes play football (if that is what you call it) Sunday I started anding the drivers side rear wheel well, I think the PO got a real good deal on body putty, I think it was up to almost a 1/4" think in some areas. I found one area that I had to cut out and weld some new metal in but the rest was minor dings and dents. I thenk he used at lease a can on this well alone.

didn't get much work done on mine at all (1970 CST/10) just looked at menards at some sand blasting sand and found out if they rent sandblasters (they don't) but they had the black magnum stuff there so i'm kinda wondering if that is some good stuff or ? but i still need to weld up the frame on the passenger side yet and i really need to get crackin on my box got a ways to go on it

I just looked at the spedometer. My brake lines have not come in yet, and I am waiting to put my cylinders on until I get the lines.

I did, however, get Gertrude (my 1967 Simplicity Soveriegn) fired up and I mowed the lawn for the last time this year. Now I gotta put the snowblower on so that the weather will stay nice(ish) until the end of December.

Cleaned up the front axle, and managed to get it painted. Working on finishing up cleaning and painting the spindles, and then re-assembly starts.

All brake parts are in, but will be replacing the lines as well. Need to browse the catalogs to see what else I can spend my dwindling funds on.

Worked the steering gearbox loose, and will get that pulled some night this week. Springs are going out this week for rebuilding.

Is this a hobby, or an affliction?

Not on mine but on the wife's 53 Push rod cover gasket. Now the water pump sounds like it wants to be next. So one is on order, be here in the Am. So why do we keep working on these old trucks??...... Oh yeah because we love them!!

used 44 1.5 in city wide clean-up after the early season snow storm a week and a half ago, it dried up so they could open the city dump grounds, got alot of smiles and a few questions about the old truck

had some early trouble with it, gas running out of carb, installed used float and new needle and seat then didnt miss a beat until the last load it over heated i should do something about the 18" crack in the side of the block rather than cover it with sealent!

Swap meet on Saturday. Found a Carter carb, fuel pump and seat cover. Sunday installed a new lock cylinder in the passenger door. Now she's semi secure! (What a PITA to lock & unlock. Especially with a baby seat) Gonna get some new windshield glass next. Looks like it's been sandblasted! :rolleyes: Broncos & Bucs won. Good weekend in all.

Drove all 3 Bolts... Saturday, swap meet, Sat. night, old car/truck barn party at friends, Sun. met w/ local car/truck guys at Sinclair, and went to Bronco game.

Best part of weekend. Got to try out Shipwright's truck w/t-5 conversion.

Worst part... See the above... Now I want one.

FINALLY started on my '51.
Drained the radiator.
Pulled the hoses.

The next few months are gonna be fun!

Long weekend on 51 1/2 ton.I had to put the doors back on after they had been painted line them up.
Then I cleaned and resealed the gas tank and installed it all while I kept one eye on the football game and a cold beer in front of me

Finally did the body work in front of the drivers door of the '54 1 1/2 ton. Getting ready for the show next Saturday. Full week of paint and clean up on "BIG BLUE" Gonna put it in the unfinished class. Drove it to the gas station and back.

still busy turnin other folks apples into sacks of 20's

red58 fires right up when poked w/ a key [or screwdriver!] and does it's job, but I did add a can of oil friday

the fleetside box for the 57 is slowly being beat into shape by my neighbor, be ready for primer in a few weeks

Didn't work on mine myself, but had it in the shop last week getting the brakes redone. Had neither the time, or adequate knowledge to do the job myself-plus, I needed it by the weekend. On Saturday, the wife and I spent all day driving it. The local chapter of ATHS had a weekend cruise. We drove all over the countryside, and stopped at several different places, where the owners showed us their collections, the projects they were working on, etc. Ended the day with a hayride and a cookout. We had a great time!
