GM pumps are known for getting weak and making the fluid "metallic" and that's the last thing you want in a P/S rack is fine metal particles. If it's offered as a system, I would buy it that way,

| | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 576 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 576 | mullins/ididit offer a pressure reducing kit i bought one yrs ago still have not installed yet do to fact truck not done yet it consisted of a spring and sone washers and a wrench the guy from mullins told me to start with two washers and go from there. said to add until i got the right amont of "road feel" that i wanted. kit was only about $20.00. i'm also running a pacer ifs with a gm pump. i'm sure they probly still have them.

I took the front end out of a junk yard and then used the old ones as cores for rebuilt ones from local parts store. The manual rack's are 4 turn LTL. My steering is still very responsive (touchy). I would like to know if the Flaming river power rack kit is any better with a variable pressure pump, I beleive they say pressure drops with increased RPM. Anyone try Flaming River power rack KIT?
