Did you do any work on the carb before this started? Maybe float too low? Not likely to have both electrical and fuel problems start at the same time without some changes made. I suggested earlier about shutting down right away when it happens. Maybe you could do the same by running it at 2000 RPM for a few minutes or so in your driveway then checking.
