As your troubleshooting I find it best to tackle one issue at a time to help determine the problem.
change one component and test..
If you by pass the ignition, test and see if the problem still occurs. If it still occurs you've eliminated that part. If there was a loose connection in the ignition it may not show up until the truck was moving
If you remover the filter, test ...when you replace the filter make sure it's reinstalled in the correct direction.
