The Sports Car Club of America racing team I worked with back in college (mid-1960's) had a 55 1st. series pickup with a Ferrari V-12 in it. That one was a real sleeper! It was mated up to a Colotti 5-speed transmission and a Jag XK-140 rear axle. Of course, it ran like a Ferrari, and handled like a pickup! A straight axle and 4-wheel drum brakes didn't help, either! Not a good combination!
