I don't care for a unit bearing. Don't have any experience with them but haven't heard anything good about them.
Some companies even take the time and effort to offer replacements that use traditional replaceable wheel bearings.

I think that's enough about "unit bearings".
Looks like I've got the disc brake thing figured (but not implemented or tested).
I'll look into replacement wheel bearings some more for the original spindles and hubs.
Were the same hubs used up to 1959 for 1 tons?
What year was the last year for a 1 ton I-beam axle; are there any other hubs and or spindles to consider that may have modern bearings or a conversion available?
