Found the bearings in the Timken catalog.
Hard to make a table, but here's a try:
Front (original) wheel bearings for 3/4 and 1 ton Chevy.

Bearing # ---- Bore --- O.D. ----- Overall Width --- Outer cup width --- Inner cone Width-
'53 to '59
B-46 ------- 1.4995 --- 3.1500 ---- 1.2360 ----------------- .8510 --------------- .9170
B-45 -------- .9058 ---- 2.2503 ---- .8000 ------------------ .6900 --------------- .6590
'46 to '52
B-26 ------- 1.4060 --- 3.1500 ---- 1.2260 ----------------- .8510 --------------- .9170
B-25 -------- .8435 ---- 2.2503 ---- .8000 -------------------.6900 --------------- .6590

The outer rings being the same width tells me the sealing method is probably the same, and the later spindles may not solve the seal problem. But no problem, I can't find an inner bearing to adapt the 2wd Chevy disc/hub to the old spindle. So I could make a bushing/adapter to also include the seal diameter.
Obviously this is still speculation 'til I get a rotor/hub to measure and try.
