tom, now i got it.
i am sure i have the calipers mounted correctly, with the bleeders pointing up. but yes, you sure can get them on wrong, and there is no markings as to which is which. and yep, i have 2 washers per side, bolt, washer, banjo brake fitting, washer, caliper.

desert dog, i got new washers from napa this morning. they seem to be a tad thicker than the ones from autozone.

while i was at napa i looked at their calipers. one looked decent and the other looked just like mine, pitted a bit and worn down ring grooves on the copper washer mounting area.

a friend suggested trying permatex thread sealer, cleaning the area with brake fluid and putting a small amount on the washer mount area, putting it all together and let dry, hoping the sealant will fill in the low spots.

so, i did just that, and will let it set for at least 24 hours and give it a bleed try again tomorrow sometime.
if it still leaks, i will hunt down a good looking caliper from one of my local auto parts dealers.

thanks again so much guys...wish me luck for tomorrow. LOL.
