I love AD Suburbans...as far as I'm concerned they are the most beautiful truck ever made! I had a '51 3100 PU for 10 years when I decided to get something different. After a lot of study and exploring I decided on an AD Suburban...problem was that they usually didn't survive in the Northeast. I ended up buying a '52 Burb from a failed ebay listing that I followed up on...former Kansas school bus and later a plumbers truck. You can see the results of the resto in the '52 Gallery. I just bought a 2nd Burb, a 1949, and have started that resto.
My Suburbans are resto mods...completely stock appearance with modern drive train,power disc brakes and IFS.
The truck is always a top attraction at any cruise-in or show I take it to...people commenting on how the Burb is so different and attractive...they also ask why it only has two doors and why you need rear barn doors with the 3rd seat in place(no space)..all good questions.
AD Suburbans are truly the ultimate "Retro SUV".
