It chose me...
A few years back I decided to get an old truck to work on. Something I always wanted to do, but time and money just kept getting away. Anyway, I was looking for a late 50's chevy (55 my fav) but figured I would know the right one when it came along. I went to look at a group of trucks and in the middle was a 1950 GMC Suburban. That was it, story over, had to have that one.
