Hello fellow burb owners!I bought my 1966 GMC Suburban back in 1992 for $1000.00.And drove it for 3 years before the V6 started spining rod and main bearings. So I put a GM Goodwrench 350 in front of the old 4 speed. And then drove it from California to here in Iowa. And the 4 speed started to jump out of second gear.and the rear end gave out.Now the 350 has trick flow twisted wedge aluminium heads,Edelbrock multi port fuel injection, headers with flow master mufflers, and a mild cam.Ford 9" rear end.And disc brakes on all corners. And a TH350 for a tranny that will get a gear venders over/underdrive in the near futher. Its off the frame right now waiting for the air ride suspention.I was very lucky on the rust problem.Since it was a california burb there is very little. There is a 1 1/2" spot in the left rear wheel well,a 1/2" hole on the bottom of the passengers door. And you can just see rust along the bottom of the tailgate. All I need to do is replace all window weatherseals, and the door window runners and stuff.Find rear hatch hindges, rear sliding window handels and locks, and body mounts or specs.for body mounts so I can find something close. It was all white I think. But when I moved to Iowa Iwas kinda tapped out on the cash thing and wanted to add some protection from the salt in the winter so I ordered a camo kit from JC Witney for $45.00.It worked and looked great. The reason I got a burb is because they are cooler than pick-ups.And not to many fo them around.
