I would not run it until you find the problem. it could take out more parts/pieces.
I have only seen one broken rocker stud on a small-block chevy. I rebuilt a 350 for my brother about 4 years ago. he was playing with a BMW on the freeway with his 3/4 ton 4x4 GMC
He called me and said there was a loud knocking noise but he could not tell where. HWen I went to rescue the truck I started it and heard a steady firm knock but it wasn`t a metal sound. When i pulled the passenger side valve cover I found the rocker and top end of the stud laying on top of the head. That valve (exhaust) was not opening and causing the knock noise. Pulled the head. had the stud replaced and he has been running great for the last two years
