Just about any '75 to '85 chev with a small block V-8. Our emission laws differ here, and they (HEI's) stayed about the same through that time and were replaced with electronic advance HEI's about '86. YOU DONT WANT ONE OF THESE! The one your looking for will only have one or two wires going to it, and one vacuum hose. Boneyards will be full. There will be vacuum and mechanical advance curve differences, (both cheaply tunable) but the engine should run well no matter what you find. Just retro'd an '87 Monte Carlo last month with one from my neighbor's junk shelf from who knows what engine. Fired first crank. I really would go with junk first 'till you get your feet wet. You can buy 'em for a few hundred, but why?
