Ok update time. The new engine is in the truck and running great, now for the bad news. The original engine #6 piston rod got hungry and ate itself. Then in the process spit up some shrapnel and took out #4 as well. We just had to know so we dropped the oil pan and there was metal everywhere. Top side of the engine is in great shape. Pushrods, valves, rocker arms were all fine. I was amazed at how clean the engine was on the inside. So the mystery is now solved. Thanks to everyone who helped me. It was very much appreciated. Now its time for me to start working on the rest of this truck.
