I'm not sure if this would be the same application for your AD, but you can look into it.
I have a '46 3/4ton with the 15" 8-lug split rim. I was told to look for a mid-80's K20 Chevy 16" rim. So I stopped at the local junkyard and they had a set. Most yards have them in a wheel rack or you can unbolt them off the junker. I paid about $30/rim. The look is almost identical to my originals except for a few buldges in the hub for the newer style hubcaps. They have a 4" backspace and are 6.5" wide. I've mounted one up to both the front and rear and have no clearance problems with a 235/85/16 over the rear brakes or the front tie rod end.

To me, it's an easy and cheap update. Locate one at a yard, drive over, and see if they'll let you fit one up to your truck so you're not out $30. I wouldn't think it would be to hard to find one rim and try it.

As a side note, I've priced both bias and radials. I thought a no-name bias would be cheaper but in the end a name brand radial is the same amount.
