This is old new to you but your discussion sure saved me. My gas tank was so bad that I thought the best thing to do was order a new one from Chevy Duty. This was in July. Had the same headaches, could not find fittings. Called Chevy Duty and they said yeah we know, its made in China you will just have to tap it for a fitting.
Did that, put it in, put in a little gas and it leaked around the fitting. Thanks to your comments, I knew what to do and took it to the radiator shop and had the problem fixed.
Since Chevy Duty was aware of this problem at least in March, why are they selling it without warning people what they are facing. I have lost three weeks on this part of the project. This used to be the company that I did most of my ordering from. They should address this problem.
