Just a thought! I find it hard to believe that the soldered fitting is leaking but I do know that using white teflon tape on a fuel fitting can result in a leak. The correct tape color is either yellow or red for sealing fuel fittings. I think they sell this at Home D. or maybe your local NAPA store can hook you up with the right stuff. Cranking down on an improperly sealed steel plug .....well, you get the idea....
