If you can, get that statement of the known problem from chevy duty in writing, as well as their recommendation for the repair and upgrade to make the tank usable. If you do the repair, do it exactly the way it is stated and use an outside shop if possible. It would be good to have both of these statements and proof your modification was done to their recommendation in the event your bolt burns to the ground due to a fuel tank leak.
