Today was a grilling day... Bad pun, I know. I removed the grill and shroud from the truck, then stripped off all the parts that could be removed from the shroud. I sandblasted the parts and then spent the next 2 days working out all the dents and repairing cracks, etc. The shroud has some previous repair work done a long, long time ago... As evidenced by the lead filler work I found. I removed some of the lead as it was in areas that I needed to repair, but for the most part I will be leaving it alone as it still has a good bond. The sheet metal behind the grill, the piece with the crank hole had been modified previously by someone with a cutting torch and no patience. I am not sure why the extra holes had to be cut, but it was a real hack job for sure. I straightened what I could and then cut it back to get a straight edge, which I then hemmed over to give it some strength and a "finished" look.
Moving right along though, parts are coming off... Stay safe, stay sane Steve
