So to get my dimensions straight before going into a big truck shop.... how much of the splined shaft should be in slip joint with no load? I'm guessing at least 2" ......?
Mike, you want to measure the distance between the two U-joints on the truck (where that shaft goes). Take that measurement along with your drive shaft to the shop and hand the shaft and measurement to them and ask when it will be done. To be on the safe side, call them first to confirm exactly where they want you to measure...
