To eliminate the number of bends (ref: klhansen), replace them with junction boxes. This makes it easier to trace shorts and power drops when and if they occur. Plus, more outlets can be added at a later time; just get a bigger junction box. Again, ensure box conforms with the number of wire junctions in it. Can also be of PVC.
