"I love it when a plan comes together!"- - - - -I used to bug the ignition system on an engine I had in my classroom and challenge my students to find the problem. After a few months' practice, I had to get really creative to come up with a problem they couldn't find. How about creating a miss on one cylinder by substituting a piece of vacuum hose for a spark plug wire? Another sneaky trick was to use a paper punch to make a round insulator from Scotch tape to stick to one side of the points! When those kids passed one of my tune-up classes, the local auto shops were very willing to put them to work.
