| Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,742 | Since the bracket for the vacuum advance provides most of the ground for the distributor and the ignition system, I think a gasket would be a bad idea unless you also attach a dedicated ground wire made of high-flex wire like a voltmeter test lead, etc. that would survive the constant movement of the housing.
