There is nothing so positive as ignorance, and stubborn ignorance is an order of magnitude worse. The self-diagnostic loop of an ECM system slows down the response of all the circuits it monitors (not just the O2 sensor) to make the gibberish somewhat understandable. The diagnostics filter out at least 90% of the raw data so there can be some hope of understanding the remaining information. Trying to monitor the raw data stream with a meter without the filtering capability of the diagnostic loop is a fool's mission.

Other than that, go right ahead and try to understand raw data off the sensors.
