Actually a 9 x 1.25mm bolt is very close (and Ford was known for using this uncommon size) and that was the size I was expecting when the bolt was so hard to find, but that tap was just a bit loose when I tried it. Anyway, this is how it's going together. Hope none of you run into the same problem.
