It was pretty close to Houston, It was a guy in Spring that had to get rid of a bunch of stuff that he was hoarding, It actually was a hand winch I bought in Germany the previous November at a going out of business sale. I was fascinated by the way it was built and I figured it would come in handy some day and it did. We had no other pulling devices such as come alongs. It was a hot day in August and I sweated a lot but I got it done. A bought the old GMC parts truck from the same guy. I also bought a complete 55 GMC 550 Fire truck from him. I hired a guy to haul it with a gooseneck. Fire trucks are pretty heavy and I would have to hired a wrecker to get it loaded on a regular flatbed.
Unloading at our place would have been no problem at our place. We would have done it like we unloaded my wrecker.
