| | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 | I see bztguy refers to the early screw-in center bow design 47-mid 49, is this the better attachment method for the cardboard? I saved one of the complete assemblies from a parts truck to try. You have a substantial spot welded support beam that this bow then screws into. Overall it appears to be a much sturdier way to mount the cardboard since the center support runs door to door and is about 3" wide. This early cardboard configuration also had the two additional support pieces/buttons that some vendors (not all) sell with the cardboard set. A couple interesting items from a piece of factory headliner (thanks Luke), notice the partial install instructions by date (continuing into 1950) maybe there is more to this install then we know?
