Do this for a few days before going after the assembly. As far as remember, its bolted under the dash with a couple of 5/16" screws and nuts, the handle has a screw in it, and the windshield has a pin in it. Not much to it other then being under the dash.

Thanks for the info! tcox you do know all it takes to get the dash off are the 4 bolts (2bolts and nuts on each side) lift up a little bit and pull back (not hard or far)and you should be able to access the bolts you need to get to. It might be a 20 minute job at most. Oh don't forget to unscrew the crank handle first. Good luck

Mine is a 37 but same as the 38. You have to be a bit flexible but it will come out without taking the dash out.
I'd almost bet the two screws holding the mechinism under the dash will come loose easier than those 4 dash screws. Those suckers can be a booger. I finally gave up on one dash and ground the heads off!! (should have welded a nut to the top of them!)
On those two screws under the dash be sure to use a thick wide blade screwdriver so you don't booger them up....or at least thats what mine had. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 5,090 Authorized Pest | | Authorized Pest Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 5,090 |
