When I was 10 years old, I was visiting a old barn and inside was an old Chevy truck. It was blue with a little bit of rust, had an straight six block in the tattered wood bed, flat tires, and owl scat all over the cab. It was love at first sight for me and I vowed to come back and fix that old truck up some day.
13 years later with my first couple of earned dollars in my pocket I made an offer to the owner of that truck. Come to find out the truck had been driven into the location that I discovered it, in 1983. A deal was made for $700 and I towed it home and started tearing her down. Another 10 years have past since the day I turned my first wrench on her and she is again on the road for the first time in 30 years. I am very proud of this truck and very happy to show her off.
My girl is a 1955 1st Series 3100. She has the original 235 Stovebolt and guts. She was born in the Oakland, California Chevy factory back in 1954 and sold to her first owner at Able Chevrolet in Rio Vista, California. I am her second owner as of 2002 and she is just hit the blacktop for the first time since 1983. She is near all original with very few modifications. -Dave

great story!!!!! wish their were more little boys like you were, most 10 year olds want new cars and they never get to experience the pride of ownership of an old worn out piece of history. when i was ten (although that was just 6 years ago) i wasn't sure what i wanted, but i definitely didn't want a 50s truck because in my eyes they were "ugly", but 4 years later i bought one, and haven't regretted it once.

anyway, welcome to the bolt,

Indy wink

Welcome Dave, there's nothing like taking that first drive after all those years of sitting. You should be proud.
