I am concerned about how to the keep mice out of my '51 when I store it this winter.
I have looked but, haven't seen any really solutions so far.

I have a cat but, she is not a mouser. Too well fed and fat.
Any other suggestions?

moth balls, just handle with care and make sure you air out the truck for days before use .... or keep the truck in an enclosure that rodents can't get into

In Scotland we call a mouse a 'moose', it looks like your version of a moose has built a nest in there!!!

You could always leash the family feline to the shifter for the winter. Just make sure he has fresh water and a litter box.

i did that and it didnt keep them out but it kept me out and it still stinks in there after a year.

find any hole the size of a dime or larger and plug it any way you can. seal off where the steering column comes thru the firewall. now they're out. i hear dryer sheets are the ticket, i would try that before the mothballs. if they work or not you'll have a pleasant smell in the cab.

They sell a pepper spray to keep critters out. Also works real well on keeping the squarrels out of the engine compartment. Makes things smell like a fresh salad.

I've had mixed success with a bar of Irish Spring soap.

Place an open box of Decon on the floorboard, (MAKE SURE your cat or any other pets cannot get to the bait).

After trying them out, Irish spring bars seem to absorb the smells from the car. Dryer sheets do more to keep the car smelling fresh. I take a hand full of dryer sheets and throw them on the floor mats. I also place the Decon on the floor by the wheels of the car. I also roll up all the windows.

Did you have to pay extra for the mouse nest?

I should have taken a picture of what I pulled out of the Suburban headliner. I'd have you all beat.

I've heard that cotton balls soaked in lemon oil works. A few in a plastic tub should do the trick

I use fabric softener sheets on the inside with mothballs on the outside. I also put many mouse traps with peanut butter on them to terminate the little vermin with extreme prejudice.

A five gallon bucket with 6" or so of water works good. Check it often. Put it in the floor board.

I keep water in my mop bucket and find them in there sometimes.
