The inside of my dooors were easy to get to, I'm not too sure about the later trucks. So if you can I'd say do the entire door. If you just want to hear a solid thud when you close the door, then all you have to do is place a pad in the middle of the panel. The object is to dampen the "drum" effect. The doors, the rear cab panel, the roof or any large relatively flat panel act as a “drum head” where small vibrations are amplified across the entire panel. It’s not necessary to totally cover the entire inside of the vehicle with sound deadener to quiet it down inside If you are looking for thermal insulation then, that’s another story. Sound deadening adhesive pad? or something else? | | | | Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 4,263 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 4,263 | I used this stuff sound deadener 32x54 $38.00 roll Not as thick as the expensive stuff but it was easy to apply and afforadable a few pics The supplier is out of Arizona and NOT a chevy supplier. Ive been reading on the forum of some people using peel and seal from the hardware store I did just the center section of the door on my 50 door pic The stuff I used is self stick on a clean surface. Dynamat or Hushmat are probably better but were not in my budget Good luck | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 | Jon, I played around with some of this and it looks like it will work pretty good. Doesn't have any smell and it doesn't seem to be bothered in direct sun. http://www.pbase.com/dennygraham/image/128491214 Probably similar to Peel and Seal. Denny Graham Sandwich, IL

I put it in the front doors. It did take the tinny sound out of the doors but I'm not sure about how much "insulation" help it is. I'm looking at some other stuff to put on the sides, and overhead of the panel. That thing will get pretty warm in the summer...as well as cold in the winter!! | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 | That's right Alvin, I thought I had posted something about the lack of thermal or sound insulating properties. It is good hoever as a damper for the "drum" effect of large flat panels it that's what one is looking to quiet. Denny Graham Sadwich, IL
