Ron, it depends on what your after. If you just want to hear a solid thud when you close the door, then all you have to do is place a pad in the middle of the panel. The object is to dampen the "drum" effect. The doors, the rear cab panel, the roof or any large relatively flat panel act as a “drum head” where small vibrations are amplified across the entire panel. It’s not necessary to totally cover the entire inside of the vehicle with sound deadener to quiet it down inside
If you are looking for thermal insulation then, that’s another story.
