It should be a rod and pivot set up, no cable until the 70's,

Ive got the choke cable installed, but the truck came with a throttle cable also...problem is it was removed before i got it. I bought a new one, but can't see how the darn thing installs. All i have is a hole in my dash next to ignition. Was hopeing if someone had some pics might help. 63 chevy 230/3speed

p.s.i have the rod/pivot set up and it works correctly. What was the throttle cable used for? Might sound retarded...I understand the choke cable, but was the throttle cable a poor mans cruise control?

Throttle cable was used a lot of times if you had a PTO set up on your truck. that way you could run the accessory without having to stay in the cab and press the accelerator.
