For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2009 Posts: 40 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2009 Posts: 40 | Hello,
This is my first post on any forum. I’m a new guy from the Finger Lakes area of New York, so go easy with me. I have a 1954, 1-ton, panel truck. It needs some help and I am very slowly working on it. I’m hoping to get some advice and some questions answered from some truck enthusiasts on here. I’m looking forward to reading your posts and joining some discussions.

Ask your question and you'll get some quick answers. Most of us Upstaters are well versed in salt and rust. What Finger Lake you near? Mine "needed some help" too, except I've been at it for three years already. How much help does your's need? What are your plans for it? Will it remain mostly original? Just browse around our site and ask whatever you need to know. Whatever you intend to do, it's very likely that someone here has done it already and can help you out. Good luck.

As the guys have already mentioned, this place is great for advice and help. You'll probably be aware there's a section for 'burbs and panels. Pay a visit, they're not a bad bunch! See you around. I have all new wiring and working on brakes now. It will be mostly original and used as my work truck. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | Welcome to the bolt Karl. Lots of knowledge and great folks here. You are quite lucky that your panel needs only a "little" help. Most of us would say ours needed a LOT of help Let us know how we can help. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 738 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 738 | Welcome Karl, I'm from Ontario NY, about two miles from the lake. I have a post on "Tons'o Fun" looking for some help. I'm looking forward to talking and sharing information. Should be able to drive my truck out of garage this spring and will post photo and story. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2000 Posts: 199 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2000 Posts: 199 | Love the 54s and the 1 ton panels. Hope to find one myself OR create one myself! I know where a '49 is that has a lot of front end rot and I've got a '54 cab that needs corners! Just a cut and paste job away...
