Hi all,My name is Jim Corcoran and I live in Jackson. I work as an auto and motorcycle tech.I have had a few old cars and trucks in my time but it has been a looonngg time since I have had anything that I have built and driven down the road. I did have a Chevelle that sat around but never did anything with it and sold it a yr or so ago.
Anyway, the 1st vehicle I had was a 48 Chev AD truck that sat out in my buddy's uncle's field. We bought it from him for $10,got it running and just had a blast bombing around in the fields with it that summer. I was 14 yrs old.
Flash forward to now and I am getting ready to pick up a 52 truck from Danimal who lives in Blissfield. I am looking forward to getting that truck running then going back into it to bring it some modern day qualities. I am sure I will have plenty of questions an am thanking you all in advance. drive Jim

Hi Jim, welcome to the 'bolt.
I see you're helping Danimal clear some space for more additions to his 'collection'! wink
I look forward to seeing some pics of your new acquisition....

Thanks Jock,Danimal appears to be doing much better and I will be sure to tell him when I see him, which hopefully will be next Sat when I go to pick up my new project. wink He does have a few sitting around and this one was to be his son's but he decided he wanted to do a panel instead. I was originally looking to do a panel but decided to try something a little simpler before tacking a bigger project like that but will be looking for a panel or sedan delivery or even a wagon to do in the future. Jim

Hey Leo,It was the summer of 1972. It took us a month to get it going but overall it was in pretty decent shape. I really wanted to keep that truck but had no place to keep it. We lived in a sub division at the time and no way was my parents going to let me bring that old truck home. Later that fall he sold it to someone else. I never even got my $10 back. That truck had not been started in 15 years so it was worth more money with it running. The experience was worth the price of admission. I have been a gear head since I was a baby.
The adults would bet on me because at the age of 5,I knew and could name every car or truck on the road.
I have not worked on a project like this for many, many years. I will be glad to get my hands on it. The only projects I have been working on have been an old motorcycle or two. Jim

Here is a pic of it.
[image]http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z198/Danimal_9395/52%203100%20Chevy/Picture005.jpg[/image] Thanks to Danimal for the pic. I will take more once I actually have it back at the shop. So unless something drastic happens in the next week or two this will be my sanity saviour as well as serving a practical purpose which is to attract attention to our service center. We work on late model vehicles as well as motorcycles but I have to justify getting this to my wife. wink Happy wife, happy life! lol
The sun is out and my son did some trading with an old brake lathe that I had. he traded it for a couple of Rajay turbos(?) and a RC Helicopter which I thought it would be a good day for us to start it and maybe try to fly it or more likely, crash it. smile
Hopefully I got the pic right so that you can see it.

OK,why is the pic not loading correctly? I copied the tag directly from the FAQ page and then inserted the text from photobucket.

the [image] tag doesn't work here [as in your tag line], inlined pics are discouraged, linked pics work fine so folks can follow them if they wish

Hey, Jim. Welcome aboard. I'll see you on Saturday! Still building the box of goodie parts for the '52.

There is a guy in Chelsea or Dexter with parts as well...his name is Bernie. I met him last year at the Kzoo swap and again in Monroe. I don't have his number but am trying to get it, I passed it on to a guy looking for a bed and haven't gotten the duct tape back! (It was his price tag!!)

I also saw a bunch of parts at one of the Midland swaps this past fall (Sept?) and a few in Adrian in October. I was too sick to do much in Adrian, though and no money in Midland!!

Dan

Jim, gongrats on joining the bolt and relieving Danimal from one of his trucks.

I just had lunch with Danimal (Dan Bowles). Great guy.

You will have questions, just ask.

Picture looks good. Just clicked on it, and there we are, no 'cut and paste' needed! I see the picture shows that yours has all the necessary parts, and a few color choices.
These are a good bunch of guys {and gals}, that are on this site, and I will continue to ask enuff questions to keep focus on my own '53 GMC truck project.
