#54465 01/04/2006 10:38 PM | Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 2,773 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 2,773 | 7.00-15 is 29". 7" sidewall (times 2) + 15" wheel. To get in the 30" range you end up with tires that are very wide, like the 31x10.50R15 LT. This is 30.4" tire with a 10.9" width.
I went to 16" rims and a 7.50R16 which is a 31" tire. Find a locally owned tire shop that does truck tires, they might be able to help in your selection.

Modern radial tires come in several different aspect ratios (ie the "75" part) If you were to go with a 255/80R15, you'd end up with a 31" diameter tire. The only thing is, you're looking at 10 inches wide. In comparison, the 235/75R15's that I'm running on mine are 9.25" wide.
16" wheels are another story. You can get 235/80R16's that will be 9.25" with a diameter of 30.8".

According to owners manual, the original on mine were 7.10 x 15. New radials will be just slightly taller than that. In the next couple of weeks I will be installing the new 16 inch wheels with the radials. I'll come back with an update once I've driven on them a while. | | |
