All's well. Sold the Canary a while back but I bought a beautifully restored 51 Chev 3/4 ton with 26,000 original miles on it. The fellow is not well and wanted it to go to a good home. She sure is a beauty. Maroon in colour which really messes up the Insurance compay they're not sure if it should be called Brown or Red as Maroon isn't in the computer.
Wow! Just noticed I`ve been a member for more than 9 years ... time does travel when you`re having fun.

We moved to a house in the woods and didn't have much reason to use the 45 2Ton so we sold it to a guy in Canada and he drove that baby all the way home. He said it purred like a kitten. I miss it. Tony sold my 51 1/2 Ton to Martin Das in Holland. That was a trip for the old gal. I still have a 50 1/2 ton that I drive in the summer. Finally, Tony just sold his 37 1/2 Ton to Laroke In Florida. He drives that rod everyday as far as I know. Tony replace it with a 81 el camino which he calls his Cruck - part car and part truck. And yes, I still garden but mostly onions because in the woods, deer will eat about everything but onions. But we love them so thats ok. Good to see you back. | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 203 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 203 | Deer ah yes - the buggers eat my roses like pop corn. I have fences to keep the little darlin's out of the veggie garden. And my rifles provides food for us ... LOL
They're cute little things but if we weren't suppose to eat them I figure they shouldn't be made out of meat.

It's never seen rain so no sense in running in the wet now.
Weather starting to dry out in the East? You've had a long one for sure.

All is good still chugging along. Have the 52 and the Toad a '51. Just came in from the shop after installing vacuum assist brakes from TCI in the Toad ... easy install. Just have to make an access from above to refill the Master cylinder if and when necessary. Got a little tight on the exhaust manifold but a littler grinding was necessary and I'm in business.

I then went to a term I once saw on the stovebolt and I quite liked. I said, "My trucks are the sweet, old, ‘fat fendered’ type."
He got it right there.
It was funny, because I then thought, "I wonder what ever happened to that fellow named FatFenders on Stovebolt?"
3 days later...BAM! You're back and still wrenching. Welcome back.

Welcome back! | | | | Joined: Jan 1970 Posts: 365 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 1970 Posts: 365 | Greetings from the frozen tundra of southwest Nebraska! I haven't been on for quite a while, but it is good to see some familiar names on this post. I signed up here in January 1998.
I started a business as a sideline to buy parts for my 51 3100 just over 5 years ago. Three years ago the business rapidly expanded so I quit my job of 21 years to enter the self-employed workplace. I sold the 51 to a kid I worked with and he is slowly piecing it together.
I just tinker with small engines and chainsaws for fun now--I work out of my home shop and have no room for vehicles that don't move daily. I enjoyed spending time on this site, and I will try to check in more frequently. | | | | Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 3,374 Moderator - The Electrical Bay | Moderator - The Electrical Bay Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 3,374 | Hello yet again Fatfenders. I still remember one of the first threads that I got drug in. The old timers were wondering if DR. FATFENDERS was you... I rotated through several nicknames until I settled on Rusty Rod, since all my "classics" are rodded and rusty.

I don't know how long before 2000 but I do remember the "reboot" and we all had to reregister. I am member 21 and you are 34 or so I think. Getting back to working on my truck after too long of an absence. Finally rebuilding the engine. No one appreciated my Bug Removal SMOKE, LOL! Good to be back
