It's a 350 punched out to 355 with Keith Black Pistons, Comp Cam, Proform Roller Rockers 1.5 to 1 21/2" GM. Rams Horn Manifolds, Street Damper, True Roller Timing chain, Preformer Intake, 600 CFM Carb, Aluminum Water Pump all by Edelbrock, GM Fuel Pump, Lokar Shifter and the engine Balanced with a GM 400 Tranny to a 373 ratio 12 Bolt GM Limited Slip Rearend. This truck is going to be a daily driver and to pull my fishing boat. It will have approx. 300HP. I consider this a non hotrod truck. Now you all know when you get started on a project like this it has to be laid out before hand. The other stuff I have done to the engine to make it run better and make it last was to send the exhaust manifolds in to have them powder coated with high heat retention coating which makes the exhaust run cooler in the engine compartment. Griffen Aluminum with Spal Fan for cooling and B&M Trans Cooler for the trans cooling I have spent $7000.00 on the truck chassie and other equipment like AC etc. so far and $2500.00 on the rebuild and parts for it. The engine will resemble a 1960 engine rebuild. So that is that so far and hope to be able to post my pics of the truck in progress soon. I hope you guys do not think I am braging about what I have done as I just like to tell people what can be accomplished on a tight budget. 62Blue Don

The sports car racing team I hung out with back in college had a 55 1st. series short bed for a pit truck with a Ferarri V-12 in it. That one got everybody's attention, especially since it had the original straight front axle and drum brakes all around! The rear axle was out of a Jag XK-140, and the trans was a Colotti 5-speed. Once you go to V/8 power it is no longer or probably never was a stovebolt. The term stovebolt was used for the old Chevy sixes, many years ago.Probably the 1929 version.Which at the time surpassed Ford in horsepower as Ford was still using the straight 4 cyl engines of that era.Of course in 1932 Old Henry put it to Chevy with the new flathead V/8. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 619 "MONGO" | | "MONGO" Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 619 | | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 576 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 576 | 350 4 bolt, .30 over, speed pro hypereutectic pistons, eldebrock performer intake, cam and carb..................dave 1949 Chevrolet 3100 "When this thing hits 88 miles an hour, you're going to see some serious sh%t." -Doc Brown
