I may not be so kind after tearing into the beast, but it is going to be fun. I plan on documenting the build up with pis, so I will post em' up when I get a chance. I'm thinking maybe a new battery and some new hoses and I should be able to fire her up. http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/2923609160101507563XzIDjf I ordered up a Mustang II front end for it with Wilwood upgrade. I plan to run a Currie 56" hot rod rear end with 3.70's and a 383 Stroker with a 700R4 behind it. I'm going to use the Progeressive tubular tranny mount and frame brace for the center of the frame, and crossmembers up front and in the rear. I also plan to use the progressive parallel 4 link set up with panhard bar and their motor mounts. Anyone have experiance using their products? Looks like they make some good stuff and it will take a bunch of the fab work our of the build. The body will be removed and placed on pallet's with coasters like I saw on this site. Great tip for moving the stuff around the shop. I will get the metal work and prime it up while I'm getting the chassis worked on, so hopefully I can mate them back up with a new driveline and fresh primed black body to run for a while till I get all the kinks worked out, then I will break down the body one more time for a killer pain job. That's my plans so far. I bit off a pretty good chunk here. Anyone know someone who needs anything off my original drivetrain? I'm in Houston and I will be trashing the old motor and trans and rear end. No lottery winner here, but I did sell a super clean old Toyota FJ-40 I had restored for a pretty penny to fund this build. This will be my first street type rod build up, but I have learned a few things from my previous mistakes. This build I wanted to be as 1st class as I could go and done right the first time with the correct stuff, and not go completely broke. I was considering a rat rod type truck, but it is way to complete to cut up if you ask me, so I decided to go with a new drivetrain and make it nice. I can enjoy it more this way as a daily driver around town and such. I just ordered up my full length frame boxing kit and tubular croass member bracing. That may be what I name her after I get into this baby...lol The PAIN project. I got a lot of work to do just to get the frame ready to dip. The the boxing starts. Nice looking stuff and it will cut a bunch of fab time out of the build. Plus, I ordered up the boxing kit and X-member today and the guy who helped me was just the nicest person and had all kinds of words or advice for me on my build. I will be buying my rear ead suspension from them as well, but I got a lot on my plate right now, so I want to get this stuff started and some of the chrome pieces like the grill to the chrome shop. That should keep me busy for a while. On the interior, I did see a nice set of digital gauges in a brushed aluminum piece cut to fit in the dash or on the dash rather and a mathing piece for the glove box lid. I think it was around $600, but I kind of dig the stock dash look. I will keep it pretty simple inside for now.
