Hi All !
Can someone get me the dimensions of the factory speaker cover/ ash tray ?
My 52 has had the dash modified ,,,the 2 round gauge holes are gone and i have a molded in square hole I have l aready made a new gauge plate to mount in the sqaure hole but i would like to put the factory speaker cover and glovebox door back in and i have neither of them and need to order new ones ,so I need the dimensions so I can check if the speaker cover will be to wide with my modified dash before ordering one .

HELP ! .....there is a matchin pair with glove box hinges on E-Bay ..i can get for a song ...compared to new ...just need the width of that darn speaker plate !
ANY HELP WIL BE APPRECIATED !

Niagra YOU ARE A GODSEND ! you just saved me a bunch a $ an grief ...i dont have the room for that plate , Cant thank ya enough !...do ya think it would be possible to shave 1/2 inch off the end near the gauge package ?...
I dont have 1 in hand too see if i could modify it ...BUT AGAIN THANK YOU !
i might just get the pair on e-bay an see what i can do with it ..the glove box has hinges an all ...not pretty but some blastin an work can be made nice

Yes, you could shave a 1/2" off. However, you will lose a very nice detail [ rounded end ] on the stainless steel trim and the embossed word, "Chevrolet" would not be centered on the trim...it would look kind of funky.

I would need to see a photo of your dash...maybe it will work for you.

I know we can put stainless trim on our 52's but I'm thinking I read on a vendor site, or somewhere, that the 52 year did not have stainless on them. Anyone know for sure?

'52 and '53 were war year trucks and had very little stainless and chrome, if any, due to the shortage in nickel going to the war effort. I belive that included interior trim as well, but not 100% certain.
