I have a 52 chev truck with installed mustang II IFS, and am now trying to hook up the stock rebuilt radiator.

Because my 350 motor is now sitting lower than the original motor in the frame, mechanical fan also sits lower and is not centered in the middle of the radiator. Will this be a problem? Is there a good solution for an electric fan instead?(mechanical clutch fan is a wee bit close and am worried about engine flex) Please recommend a good inexpensive electrial fan solution if you guys have used one. THANKS!!!

Will I ever get my truck done???

Try Jegs or Summit, from $80 on up. I have a '47 with an electric fan from there that I paid $109 for.

go to the local salvage yard and give them $20 for one that looks like it will fit. wish you lived closer cuz I have a extra. Worked in my 67 but got a twin fan for the 62. You will need a automatic thermostat that you push in the radiator fins. no big deal.

I put a 283 in my '49 and it also sits lower, but I haven't had any problems with it since I put a new radiator cap on it. I also have half of a shroud fron a '47 1 1/2 ton (?). With the regular fan and stock radiator I run plenty cool down the freeway in the summer.

Gazim,

LOLOL...I am retired from 2 jobs, divorced and the house is paid for. I don't mind scrounging when I have to but if I have a few $$$ in my pocket, I don't mind spending it.

The installation was clean and the thermostat works great.

I did what Caroline did. My 350 is low in the 37 so I put a pusher electric fan up at the top. I only have to use it if in parades or really hot slow traffic but it works and wasn't expensive. Try the local discounters.

One other benifit of using a pusher, You can eliminate the shroud and clean up the engine compartment.

Last year, after doing a lot of research, I came up with an electric 2 speed fan from a 90 to 95 ford Taurus V6. I picked it up at the local Pick-a-Part for $20.
I had to modify the shroud some what to fit in my 53 1/2ton with a 400 SB, but it works great.
I used a temperature sensor ant heavy duty relay from Summit to control it.
