HELLO EVERYONE! I'M NEW TO THE SITE, I HAVE A 1957 CHEVY 3100 THAT IS IN PRETTY GOOD CONDITION. I'D LOVE TO TURN IT INTO A HOT ROD...A TECH I WORK WITH SAY I SHOULD DROP A "CADZILLA" (500 CID 8.2 LITER -70-76) IN THERE.

ANYWAY JUST WANTED TO SAY HI TO EVERYONE AND I'M LOOKING FOR A GOOD RESTORATION MANUAL AND PARTS BOOK (I NEED A NEW GAS TANK AND TO REDO THE BED). I'M A 24 YEAR OLD FEMALE WHO'S BEEN IN LOVE WITH OLD GM TRUCKS SINCE I WAS A LITTLE GIRL--THANKS FOR ANY HELP SENT MY WAY!!!

Gosh I just love 24 yr old female truckers.(I have a grandaughter almost that old) You will have fun with this site, Good info on restoring the bed on this site and You might be able to do it yourself for your first project. Check out the links and tech tips for lots of parts sources and information. Also, that truck is yours, so make it whatever you want; stock to rod. Have fun with it!

I used to live in San Antonio several years back and really enjoyed the food, people, food, history, and (did I mention) the food. I like to eat.

As a side note, please don't SHOUT (all caps is considered shouting) unless you're making a point.

SINCE ZENISH STATES MY "CADZILLA" (500 CID 8.2 CADDY ENGINE) WOULD BE TERRIBLE ON GAS, ARE THERE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON ANOTHER? Well Erina: It is so refreshing to see a youngun especially a lady wanting to work and drive old trucks. My 30 yr. old daughter likes to help "pops" and my 20 yr. old daughter just can not wait to drive "pops" truck.

You will fit right in here we have many a guys who know their stuff. But we also have some very "special" ladies that chime in also.

FYI: When you post with ALL CAPS it is considered "Shouting". There may be alot of old guys here, but there is no need to shout.

The picture is nice, but it is preferred to post a link to the Pic rather than the picture itself. This helps save bandwidth and allows people with dial-up connections easier browsing.

You might want to check out the HiPo Shop section. It is geared toward the types of modifications you describe.

you'd prolly be suprised how many folks here plod along on dialup - remember we're united by our love of lo-tech pre-computer vehicles, and many only put up w/ being on the web for the sake of their ol truck!!

but more important is the load on the server here, which is handling millions of hits, and every byte counts!

I will add my welcome to the rest. This is the BEST site that can be found for our old trucks. Oh, yes I have dial up to. Less expensive and gives me more money for my diamond....1937. Good luck and the folks here are truly the best there is.

Hey guys this young lady has been very tolerant, let's see if we can get the name correct since she has been too polite to tell us it got corrupted into Erina instead of ErinA.

I expect San Antonio is dry enough that you can still find some good Bolts there that aren't rusted out.

I'm happy to learn of any young person having an interest in the oldies, especially a lady. I certainly wish you well in your endeavors.
