For helping keep this great

on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! After getting this picture yesterday (and you'll need to see the rest of them on Paul\'s gallery page ), and finishing Stu\'s Saga and having some pictures to add of his little guy ... Well ... just thought this would be a fun thing to share. You guys will LOVE the little welder! And I did warn Paul, there is no cure for Stovebolt Fever. He just needs to let his wife know -- and obviously it's selectively contagious. Peg

But that's just about all that I've had munchkins assisting with. Usually, it's me, my friend Steve, my dad, and my grandpa working on it. I'll have to get used to that.

I sure wish my 4 year old grandson lived closer. He would be all over that.

But my problem, 1x 15yr girl (terrible age, I have sympathy for her parents), 2x10yr boys, 2x7yr boys and 1x 2yr boy and that is the worst one, walks, talks but no ears at all  . And a 2 months old girl that will take a few years before she will be in my shop . But you're right; I have to leave some rewarding jobs for the 10-year-old and 7-year-old boys. Thanks for the tip. My dad "helped" me buy a 52 about two years ago. We have been working on it ever since. We only have a couple of months worth of work left before the truck is done. I hope I can get my truck into classic trucks magazine some day. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 1,028 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 1,028 | HighSchool hauler,

I was opposite, I decided I wanted and old truck and bought it and restored it. Now my Dad mentioned that he wouldn't mind an old truck for himself. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 146 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 146 | wow. thats way cool. love seeing kids listining to the music i grew up with as well as like old cars and trucks.i got my kids classic cars, and they make me do the wrenching for now. but at least they have an intrest in old iron. there not brand specific, and im glad there not, because its not what brand thats important, as it is knowing the value of cars that werent throw aways, and is not something that you see 20 of in a days time. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 394 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 394 | we have the grandkids around, they sure injoy going out and getting their hand dirty, hope they are learning at the same time, would not have it any other way, great company, its our time togeather..mike j | | | | | Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 191 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 191 | I know it's not a bolt, but my 13 year old son recently bought a 51 Willys cj3a and it's our current project. He turned three in September, and I am now ready for him to be my helper in the garage. In order to prepare him for working on the truck, last weekend, we tore his go-kart apart in preparation for paint. He handed me tools when I asked for them, and I taught him how to use a ratchet. He hates hearing the sound of a hammer on metal. I let him go inside when I start banging on things or using my grinder. He spent most of the afternoon with me, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Today at 13 he loves old cars and trucks and helps his dad and me all the time. I also have a 5 year old grandson that dearly loves to get into things in the shop and loves riding in the 37. I currently have a 52panel to restore so I'm sure he will have a big part in it! My 23 year old daughter still loves to ride in the 37 she remembers scrapping mud and grease off of but school has kept her out of the shop for sometime even thought she does come and hang out with dad when she can! | | |
