ok i know taht theres teh Advance Design or AD truck series.. and ive heard of Art Deco for other years... but what would a 1961 fall under?? did they have a name for tha series

They just call the 60-66 the V8 era in my "Cherolet pickups 1946-1972" book.

1955.5 – 1959 Task Force Series (TF)

Then Bunn tells us, “Model Series designations for 1960 were completely revised. The new system began with a letter prefix. For example, a "C" prefix indicated a conventional cab; a "K" indicated a 4 wheel drive model; a "P" model was forward control; an "L" was a low cab forward; an "S" was a school bus and an "M" was a tandem.”

I did some research on the name of the 1960-1966 models, and came up with "MODERN V8" and "TRADEMASTER". Once I heard "PINCHED WAISTLINE" mentioned. Some call the 1964-1966 "SLANT WINDSHIELD" trucks.

Doug57 - the Trademaster designation is for a particular 283 engine - there was also a Loadmaster - both started about 57 +/- and were used as long as the 283 I believe

any info I've seen indicates GM never used actual series names except for the AD and TF years

Maybe the 1960-1966 Pick-ups should simply be called "FIRST GENERATION C/K", since they were the first in the series that ran into the late 1990's. No other frequently used name really fits the description of these trucks well.

1939 is among the first of the "SS" Chevrolets... Streamline Series

I've heard them called the "Advanced Engineering" trucks before, or something like that anyway,
