What wre they thinking? It looks like it was pieced together with what ever was just laying around. Not much thought was given to how things were going to work out, just look at the battery placement. I mean, come on, that just looks stupid.

mmm not a big fan.... like bass said, looks like whatever then had they put wherever it would go. Kinda neat...though they ruined an ond truck. Looks like a project. Sounds like the guy who is selling it didn't build it.

was there a plan. or was it make it as ya go.

It looks like they sawed off a chunk of shopping cart for the grill.. a grill that not only looks stupid, but also appears to sit about 3 inches higher than the cowl.

Now whats up with that bed?? I know a 3100 is supposed to be a short box, but come on.

Nice to see this builder is keeping the age old "whack it with a hammer till it fits" method for "driveshaft tunnel" construction alive in the 21st century, too.

Yank the engine and rims off it and send it to the crusher. Use the proceeds to get treatment for your obvious crank addiction.

I don't see any evidence much time or money was put into this one. But I have to agree there wasn't enough common sense!

geez, I hope nobody loses their life in that thing! the quality of the frame work is definitely under-whelming [scroll down to the end] - too bad to lose such a clean lookin cab - he sez the air cleaner came to him in a dream, and it looks like he uses a 55 chevy for a work bench! - maybe a direct hit w/ the crank addiction, Fumblin

I have to wonder if this cat is a member of the Alabama Moonshine Runners Union.. it looks like he converted 9/10ths of the "bed" space into a 300 gallon gas tank?

Some folks may consider this art, or style.. heck, some folks might even think this dude is a visionary artist.

But thru my not so old timers eyes, it simply looks like a waste of what was once a perfectly restorable truck.

RIP ole 3100.. your soul lives on in the 'bolts we save.

My thought was that "Any" time or money spent on this was too much.

I think he's selling it because his life insurance salesman found his website and saw the frame pictures.

With a few hundred hours of metal fab in a custom nose to hide that subframe and some engineering on the frame, it's probably saveable.

The truly amazing part is that some idiot bid on it!

I wonder if this guy's trying to make his vehicles look like "Frankenstein Monsters!?!" Browse his website and take a look at the Kawasaki "chopper" he's building...welds everywhere, including surfaces where they're not needed!

Would you buy a car from a guy who builds like this? Better question-How does a guy like this stay in business?

On his rice burner "chopper" it looks like he didn't have enough stock to fabricate a new tank, so he just welded on scraps to an exsisting tank.

Either his scrap pieces were small, or the only way he knows how to cut sheet metal is in rectangles.. that would account for the "frankenstein" welds.

My guess is this guy collects old parts and junk for free (or next to it) and slaps it together as a hobby.. selling stuff on eBay to help replenish the "tinker fund".

I think i'm going to try and find an old AMC Gremlin, rip the front clip off, weld a chunk of shopping cart to the front of it, and see if I can sell it for 2 grand!

He's just a kid. Give him a break for trying....

I saw that S-10 bed truck before this thread started, and had a hearty laugh at it.. didn't put two and two together tho, but I should have known.

It looks like a solid $375 truck.. it's not like he welded the S-10 box to the cab and "frenched" it in with some bailing wire and duct tape.

I wonder how long it took him to scrub the "NO TRESSPASSING" and "PRIVATE PROPERTY" off of those fence post tires he has on everything?

I think maybe a journey to "Casey's Customs" shop in St. Joseph, MO might make for an interesting "trip"...on crack, maybe.

The last "woody" Chevy truck on eBay shows incredible artistic talent, by comparison! Scary, huh???

I'm guessin' that you could crawl around under one of these things with a gasket scraper or a putty knife and come out with about a 5gal. pail full of dirt, rust, and grease.

I think maybe ive gained a little insight into these rat rod guys by going on ebay to passenger vehicles typing in rat rod. boy the fun has started. Heres what its all about [patina ], a useful word when describing a motor vehicle to a perspective buyer when you arent to proud of one or several features. That word has more apeal to a perspective buyer than piece of s#$t. Just think about it no more block sanding, no more hours of work getting panels to fit properly ,no more high dollar paint, no more wasted time searching for that just right part. Man this is sounding better all the time, rat rod petina, pass the flat black paint and some of them vinyl flames. Im hot to get started bulding one right away. Think I got enough parts to finish the first one want even have to buy anything. thinking small one the first one maybe a 6 or 7 thousand dollar ride.

I feel sorry for the guy. He probably put a lot of time and money into an idea that just didn't work out. I've lost a lot more money on an idea that went south. Hopefully, he didn't lose that much and will, at the very least, learn from his mistakes. Cecil..........
